what is smør?
smør is a body care brand handmade in arizona, with products like our popular smør body butter. we offer vegan, cruelty-free, and clean ingredients that provide effective hydration for sensitive, dry skin.
what is body butter?
body butter is a thick moisturizer made mostly of plant butters and oils, with little or no water. smør has no water at all: just butters, oils and vitamin e.
is body butter better than lotion for dry skin?
lotion is mostly water, so it feels light and soaks in fast, but you have to reapply. many lotions also contain drying agents and fragrance. smør body butter does not and is formulated with only butters, oils, and vitamin e so it feels richer and keeps skin soft longer. if your skin feels tight again an hour after lotion, try a body butter. more in our guide: body butter vs lotion.
is smør greasy?
it's made of only butters and oils, so it feels rich going on. use a small amount and it melts in without a sticky film. one customer put it this way: "most importantly it is not sticky or greasy!!"
why isn't smør body butter whipped?
most body butters are whipped now. whipping adds air, so a jar holds less butter, and it can turn hard over time. smør stays dense with a balm like consistency, then melts in as you smooth it on, without a sticky feel.
how do i use body butter?
we love it after a shower. dry off and then warm a small amount between your hands and smooth it over dry spots like elbows, hands, knees, shins and heels. or lather yourself from head to toe. you can use it whenever your dry skin needs a little hydration boost.
does smør body butter have a scent?
there's no added fragrance. you may notice a light, natural smell from the butters and oils.
is smør body butter good for sensitive skin?
smør body butter was made for dry, sensitive skin: nine ingredients, no water which means no preservatives, no silicones, no alcohols, and no added fragrance. if your skin reacts easily, try a small patch first.
are smør products cruelty-free and vegan?
yes, all smør products are cruelty-free. we do not test on animals. additionally, our formulations are vegan, containing no animal-derived ingredients.
what sizes does smør body butter come in?
a 3.4 oz (100 ml) glass jar, and a 0.67 oz (20 ml) mini for your bag or carry-on. the smør body care kit pairs the full-size 3.4 oz jar with our bar of body soap and a hemp buff bag.
where is smør made?
handmade in arizona, where the air is about as dry as it gets.
what's your return policy?
body butters and lip balms can be returned within 14 days of delivery, even lightly used, for a full refund. soaps, buff bags and gift cards are final sale. to start a return, email support@smorcare.com.

do your products have expiration dates?
yes, each product has a recommended shelf life, typically indicated on the packaging. using products within this timeframe ensures optimal performance and safety.
how do i start a return?
to start a return, simply contact us at support@smorcare.com. we'll provide you with a return shipping label and instructions on how and where to send your package. please make sure to contact us before sending anything back to us.
what if my item is damaged or defective?
if you receive a defective or damaged item, please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately. we'll evaluate the issue and make it right.
can i exchange an item?
yes, you can exchange an item. the fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.
how long does it take to receive a refund?
once we've received and inspected your return, we'll notify you if the refund was approved or not. if approved, you'll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 5-7 business days. please keep in mind that it may take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund as well.
