smør (also written smor) is a small body care brand from scottsdale, arizona. our smør body butter is handmade in arizona, where the air is about as dry as it gets.
hi, i'm jelena (yel-e-nuh)
after years of dryness and sensitive bumps on my body, i started reading what was in my body care. even the "clean" brands had ingredients i didn't want on my skin, so i made my own. that's how smør started. you deserve to feel good in your whole body, not just your face.
what's in the jar
smør body butter has nine ingredients: organic shea butter, avocado oil, cocoa butter, organic jojoba oil, organic sweet almond oil, organic castor oil, organic olive oil, organic rosehip seed oil and vitamin e. there's no water, so it doesn't need the same preservatives water-based lotions do. vitamin e helps keep the butters and oils fresh.
never whipped
most body butters are whipped now. whipping adds air, so a jar holds less butter, and it can turn hard over time. smør stays dense, with a balm-like feel, and melts in as you smooth it on.
no added fragrance
we don't add any fragrance. you may notice a light, natural smell from the butters and oils. that's different from "unscented" products, which can use masking fragrance.
made for dry, sensitive skin
smør is a cosmetic moisturizer for dry, sensitive skin. it isn't a treatment for any skin condition. if your skin reacts easily, try a small patch first.
what's in the name
smør means butter in norwegian and danish. the ø is part of our name, so you'll see us written as smør and as smor. smør is an independent brand and isn't connected to other products with similar names.
